ABOUT ME

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice in Manhattan. I work with children, adolescents, and adults. Before becoming a therapist, I was a middle school English teacher at public schools and the independent school Dalton in New York. My first career was in commercial book publishing and I remain an avid reader.

The charm on my bracelet always reminds me that curiosity is the key quality in beginning to understand ourselves and how we have adapted to the world we live in. My first training was psychoanalytic, but I have come to understand that the mind, our sense of self, is primarily rooted in our nervous system, and our best path to emotional ease is through awareness of the mind-body connection.

Each client is unique. Together we will explore how our brains, our bodies, our pasts, and our culture can contribute to pain and suffering. Clients will learn new concepts to free themselves from inner critics and to nurture love and self-acceptance.
