Teachers

Teaching is more than planning and performing — it is emotional labor. Maybe you became a teacher because you love children and it shouldn’t feel like labor, but the hundreds of personal interactions a teacher has every day demands a lot even from the most giving people. As a former teacher, I know firsthand the personal and emotional toll of the job.

I work directly with teachers to address the extreme stress that can cause as many as half of all teachers to leave the field during their first five years on the job. That’s a shame because teaching is also a calling that can also bring deep satisfaction and joy. Research has shown that those teachers who learned to manage classroom stress during their student-teaching years showed a marked improvement in well-being during their first year of teaching. Let’s work together to build your resilience and reclaim your love of teaching.
